18/19 DHL Youth Volunteer Fellowship Application

The DHL Youth Volunteer Fellowship aims to shine a light on young people who have made impacts in their local and global communities in a positive way. We are looking for young leaders who are taking concrete and measurable actions to make positive impact for those in their communities.

Tell us how and why you are passionate about being a change-maker and what you hope to achieve through the trip to Ecuador as well as the mentorship opportunity by answering the questions below.

DHL Youth Volunteer Fellowship Award winners will have the chance to:
- Take part in WE Day and present on the WE Day stage
- Travel to Ecuador on a ME to WE trip in August 2019
- Take part in leadership programming to enhance your skills
- Receive support from your own WE mentor

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have a U.S. passport that is valid until February 9, 2020
- Must be between the ages of 13 and 18 at the time of application submission
- Past year's DHL Youth Volunteer Fellowship winners are ineligible

Terms and Conditions:
- Each recipient is responsible for his/her own travel insurance, vaccinations, transit visas (if applicable) and valid passports.

How do I create a great application?
In this application, you will be asked the following questions:

What issue in your local community or beyond have you taken an action on and why?
How have you worked to address the issue? Tell us, step-by-step, the specific leadership actions you have taken to make a positive difference. Provide as much detail about the actions/projects you have worked on as you can. How have you acted as a leader? Please provide specific examples of how you demonstrated your leadership skills.
What positive impact have you had on others in your local or global community? What have you learned by taking action?
What is your next plan of action? How would this Fellowship help you to continue your work as a leader and as a change-maker?
